Die 145. Jahresversammlung der Deutschen Ornithologen-Gesellschaft findet in der Zeit von Mittwoch, 3. Oktober (Anreisetag) bis Montag, 8. Oktober 2012 (Exkursionen) in Saarbrücken statt. Die lokale Organisation der Tagung liegt in den Händen eines Teams um Dr. Wilhelm Irsch. Schwerpunktthemen im Tagungsprogramm werden „Aerodynamik und Energetik des Vogelfluges“ und „Phylogeografie bei Vögeln“ sein. Ein weiteres Schwerpunktthema wird durch die DO-G-Projektgruppen "Neozoen und Exoten" und „Gänseökologie“ (insbesondere aus dem Überlappungsbereich beider Arbeitsbereiche) gegeben.

International Conference on Hunting for Sustainability:
ecology, economics and society

In this conference, we will explore the potential for sustainable use of biodiversity by focusing on an assessment of the interaction between social, cultural, economic and ecological values and impacts of hunting. Finally, we will discuss how these multidisciplinary results should be taken into account when designing policy, including the future EU policy on hunting and biodiversity conservation.
